Math Update
Third Grade
Third grade students worked in Martina and Fizz and have the practive problem for Episode 3 as homework. Their homework is the thinking problem for this week. They were to find at least one way to use the following 5 numbers: 4, 7, 5, -3, 8 to make -6 and 3, 6, 4, 5, 9 to make 15.
Fourth Grade
Fourth graders began Hands on Equations, a manipulatetive way to work on algebra. Their thinking problems were to find at least one way to use the following 5 numbers: 4, 7, 5, -3, 8 to make -6 and 3, 6, 4, 5, 9 to make 15. The more ways they can find to solve this problem, the more their thinking will be challenged.
Fifth Grade
Fifth graders presented their bicycle tour brochure and their findings about cost, expenxes and profit. We began Acdcentuate the Negative in math and they are to look at 1.2 for homework. Their thinking problem for this week is to find at least one way to use the following 5 numbers: 4, 7, 5, -3, 8 to make -6 and 3, 6, 4, 5, 9 to make 15. The more ways they find to solve this problem, the more their thinking will be challenged.
