Math Update

Third Grade Third grade students were gone on a field trip to the MIA and did not have math this week. Students are continuing to work on story/word problems using this same technique. The thinking problems for this week are to find at least one way to use the following 5 numbers:5, 7, 12, 6, 1 to make -3; 5, 11, 4, 9, 6, to make 13. The more ways they can find to solve this problem, the more their thinking will be challenged. Fourth Grade Fourth graders are doing an alternative activity for 4.1 and 4.2 this week. They used a menu of their choice in class and ordered to their's hearts/stomach's content. They had to figure the tip at 15%, 18%, and 20% and the tax at 6%. They are to come up with 3 totals for the total meal, being careful not to pay tip on the tax or tax on the tip.
